My Brave Little Brayden

A couple weeks ago we went to Lagoon, and we had a lot of fun! We got soaked on Rattlesnake Rapids, and then got right back on and rode it again. Brayden cracked me up. He wanted to ride anything and everything. His favorite ride was the Wicked! Straight up and straight down and he loved it! He wanted me to take him on the Catapult! If you don't know what that is, look it up on Lagoon's website. He had his arms raised up on all the roller coasters and there was nothing he wouldn't do. Crazy, wonderful, funny kid. We went with our wonderful friends, the Hardy's. The kids loved having their best friends there, as you can see. Gavin went everywhere with Shaylyn and rode just about every ride with her. I love the picture of them holding hands.

Like Mother like Daughter

Lately Faith has been excercising with me in the mornings, and it is so much fun! It makes it so much more enjoyable. Brayden and Gavin will join in sometimes as well. It just reminded me of when I was a little girl and I would excercise with my mom. I would put on my leotard and my headband and of course my leg warmers and we would put on Jane Fonda's 20 min workout.

Off to Kindergarten

I can't believe my Brayden is getting ready to go to Kindergarten. When we went to register him for Kindergarten today, he grabbed his backpack and put it on. I explained that he wasn't actually going to school yet, but he wanted to wear his backpack to show his new teacher. He can't wait to go to Kindergarten and go to his red classroom. He was so excited to get Mrs Nybo, who was Gavin's teacher (it seems like forever ago that Gavin was in Kindergarten). They grow up so fast.

A Day at the Temple with the Family = A Day to Remember

Last night we had the opportunity to go through the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House. It was such a neat experience. The kids were all so excited. Landon was enthralled with the stars on the windows and just kept saying temple and Jesus over and over. Brayden was so cute. He was so excited and asking different questions while we were watching the video. Then, as we approached the temple, he folded his arms and would not unfold them at all. Going down the stairs I told him he could use the railing, and he said he wanted to keep his arms folded for Heavenly Father and Jesus. Gavin loved the sealing room. We've been talking about the Plan of Salvation lately and he was very comforted to know that we would be together forever. It was wonderful to stand in the sealing room looking in the mirror together and tell the kids how we would be together forever because we had been sealed in the temple. We all had a wonderful experience and left feeling the spirit. I was very grateful for the opportunity to share so many special things with my children and see them get excited for the day when they could come to the temple to do work for their ancestors that have passed away.

My Brayden is getting bigger

It just hit me that my sweet little Brayden will be heading off to Kindergarten in about a month. I suppose it isn't really that different from preschool here, but it is still a big step. It is crazy how fast our children grow up. It is so fun to see them grow, but if you are not careful it just passes right by you. They just don't still little very long. Anyway, I thought I would post some of his preschool graduation pictures. He was so excited to show off what he had learned and he was just so happy and so proud of himself. When his Daddy arranged to work from home so he could be there, Brayden cheered and jumped for joy!

Brayden's prayers

So, last week Doug's Aunt Maureen passed away and it was the first funeral that Brayden has been to. He was very fascinated by it all and has been asking nonstop questions about the plan of salvation. A few days ago when he was saying his prayers, he said, "Please bless Grandma Ward that she will be able to see her sister again someday." Then yesterday he said in his prayer, "Heavenly Father, please bless that Jesus Christ will come back down to earth and that he will bring Maureen with him so Grandma will be happy." More and more my kids prayers are to bless other people and less about asking for things for themselves. I love that! There is nothing more sweet than a sincere prayer of a child.

Memorial Day fishing

On Memorial Day this year we went fishing with Grandma and Grandpa Ward and the Ahern Family at Payson Lakes. It was so much fun! The kids each caught thier first fish. Landon loved watching everyone catching fish. He was very enthralled with the fishies. Of course when it came time to eat them, he wanted nothing to do with it. Faith was casting and reeling her own fish in, and Gavin was reeling them in like crazy. Landon fell in the lake while trying to fish, but what is fishing without a little adventure. His cousin Brittany warmed him up right quick and he was good as new in no time. You'll notice in the pictures how we kept taking our jackets off and then putting them on again, what can I say, it's Utah my friends. It was a great day though. We had a lot of fun. Nobody wanted to go home, but they all slept like babies once we left.
